Listening in Relation

CASE is teaming up with faculty and students at Emily Carr University (ECU), U of Laval and The Only Animal, to investigate listening and material-making in relation to thought and creative practices in decolonization. The project explores sound walks, improvisation workshops, readings + discussions, natural dye workshops and botanical printmaking. Participating artists/facilitators include Rita Kompst (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm [Musqueam]), Toni-Leah C. Yake (Kanyen’kehà:ka [Mohawk]), Anju Singh, Liz Ellis, Adrian Avendaño, Lara Felsing (Métis).

Events will take place in Quebec City and Vancouver and be shared in the CASE newsletter. Events are free and open to the public, but registration is required. If you would like to be added to a mailing list to receive updates on this program, please e-mail jandreyev@ecuad.ca or info@theonlyanimal.com.

Knowledge generated from the project will be shared and discussed at the Equinox Roundtable (see below) March 21-23, 2025 and reported on the CASE website in summer 2025.
